Change TC RC2 to TC Final in TCUP 5.1
#1
Hello to all users of TCUP!

I thank guys for preparing such a great package such as TCUP, which is a pleasure to use on daily basis.
I have one question though: Since I expected to see TCUP 5.2 released today, which would include final version of TC 7.55, and this was not the case, how can I replace TC 7.55 RC2 with final version?
Ma idea was to:
- install TC 7.55
- install TCUP 5.1
- copy necessary files from folder of TC to TCUP.
Can it work that way, and what would be those files?

The reason I ask this is that I feel uneasy using RC when there is final version available.

Thanks for help!

I compared (in TC) TC folder and TCUP folder and copied all different files from TC to TCUP. But something is not right, because when I start TCUP after that, I cannot see all menus and bars as TCUP should look like.

Do you know what else needs to be done/tweaked?

Copy:

Exaple for english:

c:\Program Files\TC UP\CONFIG\ENG\ENG\wincmd.ini
c:\Program Files\TC UP\CONFIG\ENG\ENG\DEFAULT.bar
c:\Program Files\TC UP\CONFIG\ENG\ENG\DEFAULT01.bar
c:\Program Files\TC UP\CONFIG\ENG\ENG\DEFAULT02.bar

to:

c:\Program Files\TC UP\

I tried it, and it doesn't work.

I copied default.bar and default.br2 from clean install TCUP to the one I'm trying to make with final TC 7.55 and now toolbars are ok.

But menus are still same as in TC, and not as they should be in TCUP.
Any other suggestions?

Menu is in this directory:

c:\Program Files\TC UP\LANGUAGE\

If You replace by directory from TC, You lost this menu.

I started it from administrator account and it works! Smile

There just seems to be some error in user policy rights, but I'll find what it is - the main thing is that it works - it's final TC 7.55 now.

Thanks a lot for your assistance!!! Smile

Hmmm.... I noticed one bug - but I do not know whether it is due to this copy-pasting that I have done or bug in TCUP 5.1 itself.

The bug manifests itself as inability to view from Windows Explorer right click menu (right mouse button click - Total Commander Ultima Prime - View). In previous version, if you chose that option View on a movie, it would open in KMplayer. But now, it just opens TCUP in a folder where that movie is, it does not open the movie itself. Same is with any other file (mp3, picture or whatever).

Is it same with you?
